Snow Day Activity
If you are in someplace else where you are snowed in, I hope your lights are still on and you have stocked up on your favorite foods. What are you going to do once you have OD’ed on the news reports of what’s closed, what roadways are blocked, and what to do in case of a power outage? Why don’t you spend time making serious plans for this year by writing out your goals?
Along with your goals, you can also think about the following:
- This Year’s Focus – A friend, Donna Lang, starts each year having an area to focus on in order to make enhance her life. For example, it could be finances, diversity, friendships, health, etc. What will be your focus area for 2011?
- Negative People Strategy – A teller at my bank told me she decided this year to get rid of the negative people in her life by telling those she knew (friends, colleagues, etc.) if they did not hear from her on New Year’s Day, they would not be hearing from her during the rest of the year. Interesting strategy! What will be your plan for purging the negative, energy-drainers from your life?
- Slogan For The Year – A friend, Lynda Shorter, creates a slogan every January. This year it is “2011 Is My Best … More Love, Gratitude, and Success!” What will be your slogan?
These are things you can think about while you enjoy the sight of the beautiful snow. And if you are in a place where it is sunny, warm, and there is no snow, these are still great questions for you as well.
